I hesitated making the Tablet Sleeve. I did. I hesitated because I do not own a tablet, and it was daunting to consider the most exact measurements blindly!
Well. I hemmed and hawed about it for months--no fears, not constantly--and then, naturally about 4 days before the Summer Market, I decided to go for it. I did a little reading on the dimensions of the iPad, and I sliced up some fabric.
My friend Michelle offered her iPad as a model, and it fit. My mom offered her iPad as a model, and it fit, too! Success!
These little puppies are $20. They will fit the iPad with a cover or a keyboard attachment just beautifully.
Imagine my surprise this afternoon, the day before the biggest show I do all year, when my sewing machine--yes, the very SINGER whose praises I sang only a few weeks ago--absolutely quit working. I mean "quit working" in that when I opened it up, there was a PIECE OF IT just sitting there! A piece of the machine! Gah. Evidently, it is a tradition or a curse, as this very thing happened last year during this very same show.
I was in the middle of stitching up a few last minute items for the show tomorrow, and when the stitches started looking more like crazed Morse code ramblings, I figured it it was a sign from the heavens that I should maybe think about packing--which I did, for about 4 hours. So, silly curse, I'm ready for the show.
Also, thank goodness the machine guy is in at 8:30 tomorrow morning.
